Sophomore Brian Kwedor scattered seven hits and struck out three over six innings of work to lead Mass-Maritime to a 3-0 non-league victory over Johnson & Wales Monday afternoon at Commodore Hendy Field. The host Buccaneers plated the only run they would need in the bottom of the fourth, as junior Logan Sullo reached out a bunt single, advanced to second on a sacrifice and to third on a groundout before scoring on a two-out error.

The No. 6 ranked UW-Whitewater Warhawks grabbed an early lead and didn't relinquish it in a 5-4 triumph over Southern Maine on its fourth day at the RussMatt Invitational at Lake Myrtle Park. The Warhawks scored two runs in the top of the first inning and, despite 11 hits by the Huskies, never trailed in the contest. Senior left-hander Ankur Shah started and picked up his first win of the season, scattering 10 hits over 6.1 innings while striking out four.
Redlands welcomed Williams to The Yard for a non-conference game. The Bulldogs took an early lead, but Williams battled back to notch the score at eight apiece in the sixth. Redlands plated one run in the bottom of the eighth and shut down the ninth to narrowly defeat the Ephs, 9-8.
The top four batters in the lineup racked up 12 hits and scored 10 runs as No. 21 Alvernia erased a 4-0 deficit on its way to a 12-6 win over Hood in MAC Commonwealth action at FCC Baseball Field. Leadoff batter Nathan Sides set the plate going 5-for-6 at the plate, Matt Briner went 2-for-4 in the two hole with an RBI and a pair of runs scored, Franco Esposito finished the game 2-for-3 with an RBI and three runs scored, and Cameron Coons did the job of a cleanup hitter going 3-for-5 with a pair of 2-run doubles and three runs scored.
Nationally ranked Tufts scored four ninth-inning runs to rally past host Guilford, 11-9, in a nonconference baseball game. Tufts took advantage of early control problems by Guilford pitchers to open a 6-1 advantage, but the Quakers battled back with runs in four straight frames, including a three-run sixth that put Guilford ahead, 7-6. Holding a 9-7 lead, Guilford closer Trevor Denton entered for the ninth inning and had the final out, but a drop by the right fielder allowed three runs to cross the plate and Tufts was suddenly ahead 11-9.
Host Widener scored twice over the final two innings to walk off with a 4-3 MAC Commonwealth victory over Stevenson at Maplezone Sports Complex. Widener trailed 3-2 when it tied the game with a run in the eighth, then pushed across the game-winning run in the bottom of the ninth when Nick Enos doubled to right, allowing Bob Barnett to score the winning run.

Seventh-ranked LaGrange topped Averett 5-2 at Cleaveland Field in Williamson Stadium. The win was the eighth in a row for the Panthers and completed a three-game sweep of the Cougars. Freshman Richie Post made his first start of the season. He allowed a run on four hits in five innings of work. Collin Barrett gave up an unearned run in four innings of relief to pick up his second save.
Sophomore Matt Riebesell lined a walkoff single up the middle to give Muhlenberg a 6-5 victory over Penn College. The Mules rallied back from an early deficit to take a 5-3 lead, but the Wildcats ied the game in the eighth to setup the late game drama. Freshman Brenden Weiss reached on an error to start the bottom of the ninth and sophomore Chris Grillo moved him to third on a bunt single. Riebesell then laced a 0-1 fastball through the middle to bring home Weiss and win the game.
St. Joseph's (Long Island) earned a split of a doubleheader against Plymouth State in non-conference action at the Gene Cusic Classic in Fort Myers, Florida. With a Plymouth State runner on second in the bottom of the seventh, Josh Goulet singled to drive in Eric Leitch to walk-off against the Golden Eagles 4-3. St. Joseph's turned the tables in the second game, winning the nightcap 6-3.
Scott Hilpert smacked three home runs as part of a five-RBI performance and Riley Newman tallied seven strikeouts in relief as Linfield completed a three-game Northwest Conference sweep. The ‘Cats then tacked on a nonleague victory against Lewis & Clark on a chilly, and at times wet, evening at Roy Helser Field.
WPI Freshman Keith Scales scattered four hits over seven innings of relief and senior Nick Comei connected on what proved to be the game-winning home run in a 9-7 victory over visiting Gordon at the New England Baseball Complex. The Engineers, who are now 2-0 at home, are in the midst of a three-game winning-streak. The Fighting Scots, who's streak is trending the other way, fall in their New England debut.
Elmhurst pounded out 23 hits and plated 24 runs while cruising past Union 24-1 in the team's third game of its spring break trip to Florida. Elmhurst wasted no time putting the game away. The Bluejays sent 12 batters to the plate in the top of the first and scored eight runs. A two-run single from Jacob McMillan and a bases clearing double from Brandon Kressner helped spark the eight-run frame.
Virginia Wesleyan ended a three-game losing streak, bouncing back with a 9-4 victory at Mary Washington. The Marlins scored early in the game as Brandon Kussmaul singled to right field to lead off the contest, scoring on Deon Hammond's double to left. The score remained 1-0 until the sixth inning while Nick Bay controlled the Eagle lineup. The Marlins scored four insurance runs and extended their lead to 5-0.
