Ryan Tropeano, Nick Comei and Anthony Capuano all amassed three hits and the WPI defense turned four double plays as the Crimson and Gray went on the road and defeated Babson 11-4 in a NEWMAC contest played Monday morning. WPI, winners of a season-best seven straight, is now 21-8 on the season and hold a half game lead ahead of Wheaton (Mass.) for the best overall record in the eight-team league.

Keystone completed a regular season sweep of its CSAC series with Marywood by pounding out 19 hits on its way to a 14-4 victory. Keystone jumped out to a fast start, scoring four runs on three hits in the top of the first inning and broke the game open by plating four runs on five hits and one error in the visitor’s sixth.
No. 15-ranked Texas-Dallas rallied from a two-run deficit midway through the contest to earn a 6-3 win over Southwestern in the Comets' final non-conference game of the regular season. The Comets extended their winning streak to four games with Monday's victory and will look continue the trend this weekend with a three-game American Southwest Conference series at Mary Hardin-Baylor.
Sophomore Garrett Crum sparked eighth-ranked Wooster offensively with a grand slam after senior Jamie Lackner was intentionally walked to load the bases in game one, and the Fighting Scots went on to have another banner day offensively with 31 runs as Wooster capped a NCAC East Division series with an 18-2 and 13-2 sweep over Kenyon at McCloskey Field.
UMass-Dartmouth secured a Patriots' Day split with No. 7 Tufts, as the Corsairs shined in game one but slipped in the night cap at Huskins Field. Junior Mac Curran baffled the Jumbos for 5.2 innings as the Corsairs jumped out to the early advantage and held off the Jumbos in game one. The southpaw held Tufts to only three base hits and one run, both season lows for the Jumbos. Senior Taylor Cacciola went a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate, driving in two runs and was just a home run shy of the cycle. The Jumbos bookended game two with four runs in the first and again in the sixth to hold off UMass Dartmouth's attempt at the sweep.
Plattsburgh State beat SUNY Canton, 8-2, in non-conference play as the Cardinals improves to 9-2 in the all-time series against Canton. Plattsburgh State freshman Kentaro Mori went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, one walk and one run scored, while senior T.J. Montalbano went 2-for-4 with a hit by pitch, two runs scored and three stolen bases.

The Northwestern (Minn.) Eagles swept the North Central (Minn.) Rams, 8-7, in 11 innings in game one before topping the visitors 7-5 in game two. Northwestern needed four runs in game one to send the game into overtime, tied 7-7 before a single run in the 11th inning kept the Rams winless in the UMAC. The Eagles took care of buiness earlier in game two with a two run sixth providing the winning margin for the sweep.
The weather was cold, but the Edgewood bats were hot in the Eagles' sweep over Lakeland. The Eagles pounded the Muskies with 25 runs and 32 hits in 13-2 and 12-2 victories to even their NACC record at 6-6. Danny Appino earned a save in the second game to become Edgewood's career saves leader. The save was Appino's fifth this season and sixth of his career, which breaks the Edgewood College all-time saves lead which was held jointly by six different Eagles.
Sophomore Brian Kwedor tossed a complete-game seven-hitter and struck out three to lift Mass-Maritime to an 8-0 victory over MCLA in the opener of a MASCAC doubleheader played Monday afternoon at the Joe Zavattaro Complex. The host Trailblazers gained a split of the twinbill when junior Brett LaBonte scored on a walk-off error for a 6-5 MCLA nightcap triumph. On the day, junior Connor Kennedy hit the 100 hit mark for his career.
Hood defeated Messiah 3-2 in the opener before the Falcons escaped with a 7-1 win in the nightcap. Nate Luscombe pitched a complete game in the opener. The sophomore limited Messiah to just five hits and two walks, striking out five. Hood got a solid start from Brad Sawyer in the second game. The freshman went 4.2 innings and allowed just one hit, a fifth-inning bunt single. He allowed two runs, walking five and striking out eight. The Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth doubleheader was played at Nymeo Field at Harry Grove Stadium.
Wheaton (Mass.) picked up its seventh straight win after defeating visiting Nichols 5-4 at Sidell Stadium in a non-conference contest. The game was the second meeting of the season between the Lyons and Bisons, with each team earning a victory. Nichols won the first match-up 9-6 in extra innings at the beginning of the season. Sophomore Tommy Larason collected his fifth win of the season, pitching seven complete innings for the Lyons, giving up just one run on four hits, while striking out two. Junior Joe Bongiovanni, who came in in the ninth, collected his second save of the year.
Junior Carter Snyder tied the game with a two-run homer and first-year C Alex Rodriguez followed with an RBI single for the game-winning run in the eighth inning to lead the visiting Trinity (Conn.) Bantams to a 6-4 victory over the Western Connecticut State Colonials at Westside Field.

Southern Vermont won its third-straight NECC game as the Mountaineers tacked up a late seven runs before holding on to top Daniel Webster 9-5 at Bill Epstein Field. Mountaineer sophomore center fielder Zack Stacey made program history as his double in the top of the eighth extended his hitting streak to a new team record 18 games; that surpassed the mark of 17-straight appearances with a hit set by Pat Warrington in 2011.
Dan Hartson finished a home run shy of hitting for the cycle and struck out 10 batters in six innings on the mound to lead King's to a 10-4 victory over visiting Clarks Summit at Lipo Field in Wilkes-Barre. The Monarchs improve to 13-12 and sweep the season series from the Defenders. King's had previously beaten the Defenders in a doubleheader to begin the year back in February. Clarks Summit falls to 4-18.
Playing in their final home game, EMU's senior class was determined to go out with a win. The seniors either scored or drove in each of the Royals' runs in a 9-5 win over Southern Virginia in Harrisonburg. Eastern Mennonite won four of the five games in their final homestand of 2017. The Royals end the year with six straight road games, including Wednesday at No. 1 Shenandoah University in Winchester, Va.
Gwynedd Mercy won their fourth game in a row, defeating Centenary, 10-5, in a CSAC matchup. With the win, the Griffins take all three regular-season meetings with the Cyclones for the first time since the 2012 season. Nick Mulvey was 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBI's and hit his first career home run, a solo shot in the seventh. Shaughn Wright also had three hits and a pair of runs knocked in as Gwynedd built a commanding 10-0 lead before Centenary scored their runs in the eighth and ninth innings.
The La Roche Redhawks outlasted a tough Mount Union team 5-4 in a non conference matchup between two teams atop of their conferences. Jon Spina had a great day at the plate going 3-3 with 2 walks and scoring 2 runs as well
Concordia (Wisc.) continued to swing the bats well in a doubleheader sweep over Rockford. For the fourth time in the last five games, the Falcons scored 10 or more runs, accomplishing the feat in each contest for wins of 11-5 and 13-2. The Falcons pounded out 16 hits in the opener and recorded three big innings en route to the 11-5 win. CUW built an 11-0 leader after six-and-a-half innings of play before the Regents scored five runs in their final three at-bats. Thomas drove in four more runs and Schubert collected three hits, while also delivering seven strong innings on the mound to help the Falcons complete the sweep via the 10-run rule in game two.
Senior captain Ryan McCarthy homered to get the offense going in the first inning and Bates scored six in the third to propel themselves to a 9-4 victory over NAIA program Fisher at Leahey Field. The Bobcats won their seventh consecutive game, their longest winning streak since 2011. Junior Connor Speed got the start and pitched three no-hit innings, striking out four batters along the way. Junior Connor Russell followed Speed on the mound and tossed two scoreless innings to earn the victory out of the bullpen. Russell only allowed one hit and struck out one.
