Senior Jacob Thumann became the career program leader in home runs in the 18-6 and 12-3 sweep over Coe Tuesday. Thumann broke the old mark of 28 set by Wartburg Athletics Hall of Fame member, Matt Thede, in 2001. The Knights moved their winning streak to six games.

Plattsburgh State totaled 20 stolen bases en route to taking both games of a non-conference doubleheader at Norwich, winning 8-2 and 3-1, at Garrity Field. The Cardinals, winners in three of their last four games, are 10-19 on the season, while the Cadets go to 12-19. Both of Tuesday's games were seven-inning contests. Steven Bryant stole four bases in the opener and one in the nightcap for five swipes on the day.
Hamilton improved to 12-7 in non-league competition with a 13-3 win over the visiting Cazenovia Wildcats at the Loop Road Baseball/Softball Complex. Hamilton pounded out 15 hits (including seven for extra bases) and stole a season-best seven bases in the win. Kenny Collins stole four bases, Ryan Wolfsberg drove in four runs and Andrew Haser turned in strong performances at the plate and on the mound. Haser went three-for-five with a pair of doubles. He made his second start of the season and earned his first win of the spring by allowing just four hits over six innings.
UW-La Crosse earned a 4-0 victory over Milwaukee School of Engineering at Copeland Parki n the first-ever meeting between the schools. In his first start of the season, Brock Rudde earned the win for the Eagles, going 6.0 innings, allowing two hits and one walk while striking out three. Rude, making his third career start, did not allow a MSOE runner to reach second base in his 6.0 innings of work Nick Pierick picked up his first career save, pitching 3.0 innings, allowing one hit and one walk with four strikeouts.
Wooster, up to fifth in this week's D3baseball.com/National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Top 25 poll, scored in six of its eight trips to the plate, and the Fighting Scots' pitching and defense were equally as impressive with four innings of one-hit baseball by the bullpen, and two around-the-horn double plays during a 10-5 win over Case Western Reserve at Art Murray Field.
With four hits in a doubleheader with Ohio Northern, Ian Kobernick broke the Kalamazoo single season record for hits in a season but did not result in a win for the Hornets. Ohio Northern swept Kalamazoo 3-1, 4-3 as junior All-American T.J. Storer picked up his NCAA-leading 12th and 13th saves of the season.

Bethany Lutheran welcomed Crown to the BLC Baseball Field for an UMAC doubleheader. The Vikings were able to win game one before the second game would be postponed due to weather. The Vikings got the bats moving early and often today. The Vikings were able to bring at least one run to the plate in every inning. Brandyn Olsen (7-0) got the start on the mound and would eventually finish with a win. In doing so, he helped himself out, finishing the game by going 5-for-5 with six RBIs and a total of two HRs. Nolan Grose had a great day at the plate, adding another 4 RBIs on 3 hits, two of which were doubles. Rounding out the stellar offensive day for the Vikings was John Brown, who added a single and a triple, while knocking in a run.
Thomas More defeated Heidelberg, 10-5, in a non-conference game at Thomas More Field in Crestview Hill, Kentucky. Thomas More had 10 hits in the game and had two Saints with multiple hits. Junior second baseman Ben Laumann was three-for-five with a home run, a run scored and a run batted-in and senior right fielder Ben Kenning was two-for-three with two runs scored and a RBI. Senior center fielder Casey Metzger was one-for-four with a home run, two runs scored and one RBI.
Webster extended its winning streak to seven games with a doubleheader win over Blackburn, 5-0 & 10-0 (8 inn), at St. Louis University. The Gorloks battled strong wind gusts in game one, but took advantage as the winds lightened up during the finale. Brandon Smith got the game one win for the Gorloks. Smith wound up going seven innings, giving up six hits, three walks, no runs, and striking out two. He improves to 5-0 on the season. Johnny Lord started for Webster in the nightcap and had seven strikeouts in his six innings of scoreless work, giving up two hits and two walks. He is now 4-1 on the season with the win.
Earlham won its seventh consecutive game over Bluffton, defeating the Beavers 9-1 in HCAC action at Randal R. Sadler Stadium. Freshman starter Kyle Gorman earned his second complete game against Bluffton in his career, allowing five hits compared to six strikeouts and one walk. Taylor Gambrell took the loss for the Beavers, allowing six earned runs in five innings pitched. Brennan Laird finished 3-4 with two RBIs while senior Cody Krumlauf tallied three hits and scored two runs. Five Beavers had one hit each.
