Mitchell picked up their fourth consecutive victory on Friday, besting Heidelberg 10-6 at Centennial Park in the Snowbird Baseball Classic. The win pushes the Mariners record to 4-0 overall, and marks the first time since 2016 the team has begun the season with four straight victories.

Northwestern (Minn.) wrapped up their 2023 Florida trip on Friday by splitting a doubleheader with Gettysburg. The Eagles dropped the opener to the Bullets 10-1 but answered back with a 14-5 win in their Florida finale. The first game of the doubleheader went back and forth in the early innings before Gettysburg blew the game open in the fourth inning. Game two followed a much different script than the opener, as this time it was the Eagles who controlled the game from start to finish.

The Crown Polars faced off with Illinois College on Friday falling 0-4 and winning the second 8-3. The Polars struggled early on, unable to string many hits together. With a total of 3 hits in the first game Crown left 5 runners on base. Illinois College notched the only three runs of the game with two runs coming in the 4th and two in the 7th. Mason Brock, Ashton Long, and Tristan Shoemaker all notched hits for Crown. The Polars would fall by the score 4-0. The second game saw Crown's bats come alive. Howie Hatton led the way offensively with 4 RBIs on a double and a triple. Cael Magill had himself a three-hit game as well.

Augustana defeated the Rockford Regents 13-5 on Friday, continuing their run at the Gene Cusic Classic. Josh Wintroub earned his third win of the season for Augustana after tossing five innings and striking out six batters. Addison Southwick closed the game for Augie, facing five batters and striking out one. The Vikings had 13 hits, with Kallelakis pacing the team with a 5-5 effort. Augie had 11 RBI as a team, with Alec McGinnis leading the charge with three, while Matt Ozanic and Brett Benedetti had two each. Rockford earned a win over North Central (Minn.) by forfeit earlier in the day.

WPI picked up a split against Ursinus on Friday night at the RussMatt Invitational in Florida.The Bears (7-9) took game one, 8-4, while the Engineers (4-4) won game two, 6-2. For WPI, Jacob Hand and Gavin George each picked up four hits on the day, while Jack Zawacki went 3-for-3 in game two. The Bears were led by Andrew Richter who had two hits in each game, and Cameron Krugel who picked up three RBI. Ursinus' Dan Bass got the game one win in relief, throwing three scoreless innings, and allowing three hits with three strikeouts. In game two, WPI's Everett Wonson earned the win, going five scoreless innings, allowing just two hits while striking out eight.

Bethel started out their Florida spring trip in Auburndale with a 3-2 comeback win against Texas-Dallas early Friday morning. BU's offense was powered by Matthew Carlsen, Tommy Friesen, Ty Koehn, and Nick Kulseth, each with two hits on the day. The Royals pitching trio of Ryan Parker, Michael Meadows, and Blake Williams held the Comets to only two runs on the day while Matthew Carlsen and Matt and Tommy Friesen all had RBIs in a tightly contested Bethel victory. Bethel pitcher Ryan Parker kept this game scoreless until the fourth inning when Luke Finn drove in a run with an RBI single and Colin Ethridge drove in another with a sacrifice fly to put the Comets up 2-0 on the Royals in the bottom of the fourth. The top of the sixth inning would find the Royals storming back, led by a Matt Friesen RBI single, followed by a Matthew Carlsen RBI double, and a Tommy Friesen RBI sacrifice fly to put the Royals up 3-2. Blake Williams came in for relief of Michael Meadows to start the bottom of the seventh for the Royals and pitched three clean frames to earn the save and the opening trip win for the Royals. Texas-Dalles rebounded with a 7-6 win over Rowan in 10 innings.

SUNY New Paltz rallied to earn a doubleheader split against Centenary (N.J.) Friday. The Hawks dropped game one, 5-4 before earning a game two victory, 7-6. In game two. The Hawks (2-5 overall) faced a six-run deficit entering the top of the fourth after the Cyclones scored four in the first and added two insurance runs in the bottom of the third. SUNY New Paltz cut into the lead in the next half inning and tied the game with one swing on a three-run home run to knot the score at six. With Justin Harvey at the plate in the seventh, the senior came up clutch, swinging for a RBI base hit to left, which platted the go-ahead run and pushed SUNY New Paltz to its first lead of the game and what proved to be the final scoring. SUNY New Paltz looked to rally in game one as well after getting down by a run but it was a different story as an error by the Hawks in the final inning led to the winning run for the Cyclones to eventually cross home.

Jarrett Korson picked up 18 straight outs from the second through seventh innings to get the victory on the mound, as Claremont-Mudd-Scripps earned a 4-0 win over Allegheny on Friday morning in its first game of the Tucson Invitational. Korson was in a two-on, none-out jam in the second inning after allowing a leadoff double and a single, but got out of it with two strikeouts and a pickoff. He then retired the side in order in five straight innings before giving way to the bullpen in the eighth after retiring 17 batters in a row (with the pickoff accounting for the 18th out), finishing with four hits, six strikeouts and no walks. Andrew Blackett finished off the win by getting the final six outs, allowing a leadoff single in both the eighth and the ninth, but allowing both runners to advance no further, including picking up two straight strikeouts in the eighth for the first and second outs.

Concordia Texas outlasted Concordia-Chicago by a score of
9-8 in day one of the Russmatt Invitational. Otto Franz was
firing on all cylinders with eight strikeouts and only one
run allowed in 6.0 innings at Northeast Regional Park on
Friday morning.

Benedictine mashed 19 hits and opened the trip to Florida with a 16-6 victory over UMass-Boston on Friday. All nine members of the lineup posted hits. Kevin Bushnell hit an opposite field grand slam in the eighth and tallied three hits with six RBIs. Steven Salvino and Logan Gregorio also posted three hits. Ryan Doubek and Chase Hanselman both drove home three runs at the top of the lineup. Benedictine posted seven extra-base hits. John Creviston earned the win, working five innings and striking out five. Andrew Kurcz recorded the save with three innings of relief.

Bluffton took a slugfest with Hiram on Friday, winning 11-8. With 19 total runs scored in the game, there were plenty of hits to go around. Bluffton jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead through the first three innings. The floodgates opened up in the first when Jack Towell singled to right center which allowed Jake Baumgartner to cross the plate. Hiram caught fire in the top of the fifth frame, going off for six runs while stealing a 7-6 lead. The Beavers responded aggressively in the sixth inning, putting up three runs. The bottom of the seventh would see Bluffton score two more times. Adam Yoh sprinted across the plate thanks to a Hiram error and Towell added to his impressive performance with a base hit to the left. After allowing only one more run from Hiram in the final inning, Bluffton walked away with the 11-8 victory.

It came down to a five-run rally in the bottom of the seventh that helped Sul Ross State defeat Bethany Lutheran, 9-6, on Friday afternoon at the Kino Sports Complex on Day 1 of the Tucson Invitational. During the big rally in the seventh, Carson Thor had the big hit, a solo home run to left to put the Lobos ahead by one run. "It was one of those things where the big inning was going to come," said Sul Ross head coach Ely Gallego. "I didn't think we were going to score that many that inning. Guys did a great job early in the game laying bunts down, executing the little things."

Stevenson shut out Widener 7-0 to open MAC Commonwealth play on Friday afternoon. Mustang pitcher Matt Reich pitched seven scoreless innings, striking out nine batters, and allowed only five hits improving his record to 2-1. With the win, Stevenson improves their overall record to 5-4 (1-0 MACC). Jason Labrador and Matt Kossey came out of the bullpen to pitch the final two innings to lock down the Mustang's first conference win of the season.

Trine wrapped up play for their spring break trip on Friday morning with a doubleheader sweep of Penn State-Altoona. The Thunder notched a shutout victory 7-0 in game one and secured a 7-4 win on the back end. The wins put Trine at 6-5 overall while the Lions of Altoona fall to 3-7. The Thunder got a dominant performance from their All-MIAA pitcher from one year ago, Josh Hoogewerf. The junior right-hander twirled a complete game shutout over seven innings of work and struck out nine. A bulk of the scoring came in the fourth inning, as the Lions were able to tie the game up at three before Trine reclaimed the lead to make it 7-3. Altoona scratched across one more run in the top of the fifth and reliever Cole Decker appeared from the Thunder bullpen. The southpaw quickly got the groundout he needed to end the fifth and stayed on for the remainder of the contest. He struck out the side in the sixth and faced the game's tying run in the seventh before ending the game on a lineout to second base.

No. 20 Marietta scored four runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to come from behind and defeat No. 17 Cortland by the score of 7-4 Friday afternoon. The Pioneers improve to 7-4 on the season, while the Red Dragons fall to 5-5 overall. Marietta will be looking for the series sweep Saturday. Cortland grabbed its first lead of the day in the seventh but control problems plagued the Red Dragon pitchers again in the Pioneer eighth as Corland let the win slip away. Brett Carson retired all three batters he faced in the ninth, including two by strikeout, to earn his first save of the season. Jared Bees (1-0) earned his first career win with 2.0 inning of one-hit relief. Bees struck out three.

Elizabethtown ended their spring break trip in Florida this morning as they downed Thiel, 16-1. It was a slow start for Elizabethtown as they were scoreless in the first before scoring their first run of the game on a walk. To start off the third, David Woolley tripled to right field. James Vito singled up the middle to bring home Woolley. The fourth and fifth innings were scoreless for both teams. Etown scored their third run in the sixth on a sacrifice fly out to center field. In the bottom of the sixth, Thiel scored their lone run of the game on a homer to left field. Elizabethtown gained momentum after that as they rattled off four runs in the seventh. One run was earned on a walk and the other three were earned on an error by the right fielder. In the eighth, the Blue Jays bats were hot scoring seven runs on five hits. Justin Wetzel, Bryce Keller, and Ryan Redding each recorded a RBI while AJ Bednar recorded three RBI's in the inning. Kyle Mulville picked up his second win of the week, striking out six.

Roger Williams opened their 2023 campaign on Friday, defeating Southern Maine, 8-4, at Lake Myrtle Park. The Hawks picked up their first win over Southern Maine since, Apr. 6, 1983, when Roger Williams defeated the Huskies, 7-3. The Hawks are now 2-8 all-time against Southern Maine. Will Ernst picked up the win for Roger Williams in his first career appearance, while Kevin Blum picked up the save, with 2.0 innings, striking out three, facing 10 batters, holding the Huskies scoreless. Matt Massaro went 3-for-4, batting from the leadoff spot, knocking in two runs with a double and a walk. Christopher Flynn hit the lone run for the homerun, with a 3-for-5 day bringing in three runs. Jack Morin and Matt Falvey each had a pair of hits with a double.

Montclair State scored six runs in the final four innings en route to a 6-2 victory over Maryville Friday. After the Scots tied the game in the bottom of the sixt, the Red Hawks took the lead for good on a Ethan Sarmiento sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh. Montclair pushed three runs across in the eighth to salt the game away. Michael Timberlake made his first collegiate start, throwing four innings while fanning three while surrendering two hits. "Very nice job by (Michael) Timberlake in his first college outing with an equally impressive job by a veteran in relief. A culture win over a good team. Proud of the way our players played the game tonight" said head coach Dave Lorber.

Penn State Abington senior Brandon Hightower struck out a career-high 12 batters and held the St. John Fisher offense to just two hits as the Nittany Lions defeated the Cardinals, 6-0, in a non-conference contest on Friday at the RussMatt Baseball Invitational. Hightower went 7.1 innings to pick up his first win of the season. He finished the game with a career-high 12 strikeouts while holding the St. John Fisher offense to just two hits. Sophomore Josh Henderson recorded the final two outs to record his second straight save. Today marked the third meeting between Abington and St. John Fisher and the first since the 2013 season. The Nittany Lions are now 1-2 versus the Cardinals in the all-time series.

The Green Terror put up six runs in the first inning against Rivier, and kept building the lead throughout the night to beat the Raiders 14-1. McDaniel (6-4) opened up their Spring Break trip at the Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach with senior Ryan Martino on the mound. In the top of the first, Martino put down all three batters he faced then his offense gave him a six-run cushion. Freshman Gannon Williams came into the game for McDaniel and pitched two innings keeping Rivier to one run as the Green Terror continued to build their lead to 13. In the top of the ninth inning, Hunter Darke came out of the bullpen to close out the Raiders. He faced a total of five batters, and struck out three for the 14-1 win over Rivier.

Adrian began its three-game weekend in North Carolina with a game against Greensboro. The Bulldogs came away with their fourth win of the season after scoring in seven of the nine innings to win 13-5. Adrian opened the day with a run in the first inning on a RBI single from Ryan Davis and kept scoring, countering every run by the pride for more of their own. Daniel Gutierrez earned the start on Friday afternoon throwing 4.2 innings allowing two runs on three hits with three strikeouts. Gage Ricker picked up the win in relief for Adrian with 2.1 innings pitch allowing no runs on one hit.

Shane Stossel and Logan Brewer hit home runs and Nico Santoro had four RBI for Lebanon Valley in a 14-6 victory over Dean on Friday afternoon at Centennial Park in Port Charlotte. Dean (1-6) and LVC (3-6-1) trades leads until the the Dutchmen came back in a big way with six runs on four hits in the bottom of the third inning to grab the lead for good. Santoro had four RBI on two hits while also making four assists in the field. Stossel had two hits, two RBI, two runs scored, and walked once. Luke Blair knocked in three runs on two hits and scored four times. Conor Smith earned the win on the mound pitching 4.1 innings in relief. He struck out two and walked none.

Kenyon never had to play from behind against Wheaton (Ill.), but the Owls still had to stave off a late-inning comeback to steal the Thunder's thunder in a 12-9, 10-inning victory. The win bumps Kenyon's record to 4-1, the program's best start since going 4-1 to open the 2013 season, while Wheaton fell to 3-6. A pair of two-out runs in the top of the seventh and eighth innings had Kenyon in position to close out the victory. Niko Price hit an RBI single in the seventh to bring an unearned run across before Drew Robinson hit an RBI triple in the eighth to make it a 9-5 ballgame. Leaving the door open for Wheaton proved costly in the bottom of the ninth as Wheaton's leadoff hitter Harrison Stanton, who cranked a home run to right center field that carried just enough and tied the game at 9-9 in the bottom of the ninth. Kenyon earned a three run lead headed into the bottom of the tenth and with the winning run at the plate, Sam Howell struck out the game's final batter to clinch Kenyon's 12-9 victory.

Oglethorpe's pitching brought the heat on an otherwise cool and windy Friday night at Hermance Stadium. Four Stormy Petrels combined for the second shutout of the season in a 6-0 victory over Wittenberg. Tate Henderson, Dylan Quintilio, Colin Stewart and Colby James accounted for the shutout. Henderson made the start and went the first three innings. Quintilio picked up the win with a four-inning relief effort. Then, Stewart and James closed the door on the Tigers with an inning apiece to secure the team's second shutout in the last four games. Quintilio picked up his first win after scattering two hits and a walk while striking out a career high five. Oglethorpe's stellar defense did not stop at its pitching effort. The team turned two double plays: one on a great play from Carter Guarino in center field to double off a runner looking to advance to third and ultimately preventing a run, and another that ended a scoring threat in the third. In both cases, Oglethorpe led 2-0 with multiple Tiger runners on base.

Wilmington pounded out 16 hits and batted around twice in a 15-3 thumping of rival Earlham College in a seven-inning contest at Randal R. Sadler Stadium on Friday evening. The Quakers of Earlham got things started with three runs on four hits in the bottom of the first inning. After that, however, WC starter Mac Davis settled in. A scoreless second inning for both teams followed, and the Wilmington offense took over after that. Davis earned the seven-inning victory, striking out seven and scattering five hits, four of which came in the first inning. Justin Dillhoff was one of four Earlham pitchers to throw in the game as he took the loss allowing six earned runs on nine hits in just three innings. Wilmington was remarkably offensively balanced as all nine Quakers in the other tallied a hit.

Calvin erased a six-run deficit with 15 runs in the final two innings to score a 19-12 come from behind win at Covenant in game one of a three-game weekend series. Calvin (5-5) jumped in front early to take a 3-0 lead heading into the bottom of the second inning. Covenant (3-5) took over from there, scoring eight runs in the second and third frames, and then adding one more in the fifth off Calvin starting pitcher Ian Doyle to take a 9-3 lead. The Knights' bullpen kept the team in the game in the middle innings, as Evan Steinbacher, Fletcher Bandstra and Alex DeAngelis combined to throw three scoreless innings to keep the Scots at nine runs after seven. After a Gabe Bonemer home run in the seventh to cut the deficit to 9-4, the Knights erupted for eight runs in the eighth and added seven more runs in the top of the ninth, capped by a two-run home run from Patrick Gillen and a solo homer from Nate Mason, his second of the day. Ben Ferguson pitched the final two innings to secure the save, while DeAngelis (1-0) earned the win after his shutout seventh inning.
