    Illinois Wesleyan put 26 runs on the board in a doubleheader sweep of Greenville but Texas Dallas did the feat one run better in a single game. The Comets scorched Howard Payne for 27 in their opener of a three game set this weekend.

    The Schreiner Mountaineers traveled to Brownwood, Texas and won the first game 12-11, before falling 2-9 to the Yellow Jackets in the second game. Also in Texas, McMurry won easily over Dallas Christian and ETBU won on a walk-off balk in other games in Texas.

    University of Dallas took the series win over Sul Ross State after defeating the Lobos 13-2 on Sunday afternoon. Pacific's stopover on the way to the Cactus Classic Tournament went as planned as the Boxers took a second game from Redlands 8-6. HPU ended their Hawaii trip 0-5.

    Sul Ross State split Saturday's season-opening doubleheader with University of Dallas. The Lobos dropped an 8-5 decision in game one before pounding out 12 hits in a 16-0 shutout victory in the second contest. HPU lost twce to D-II Hawaii Pacific.

    Pacific, Redlands, and Howard Payne opened the D-III season on Friday night. Pacific traveled to Redlands where they scored twice in the ninth to break a 2-2 tie en route to a 4-2 win. Howard Payne dropped their opener to D-II Hawaii Pacific 7-4.
