COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Behind a five run fifth inning in game two, the Ursinus College baseball team earned a series split against No. 4 Johns Hopkins on Saturday afternoon. The Bears dropped a 7-4 contest in game one before using a comeback victory in game two to salvage the season split. Ursinus scored five runs in the fifth inning, before junior pitcher Matt Tuley closed out the contest with three perfect innings to give the Bears their second ranked win over a top-five team this season. With the victory in game two, the Bears have won three of the last four meetings at Thomas Field while each team has won four games over the last eight meetings. This marks the second time this season Ursinus has earned a victory over a top-five team as they defeated No. 2 Salisbury 6-3 on March 15th.
The Ursinus Bears defeated the first ranked team in four years as they upended No. 2 Salisbury 6-4 on Wednesday. No. 8 UW-Whitewater was the last ranked team to play a game and they opened with a win in Pensacola, Florida.
Ursinus school officials announced Monday the hiring of Kyle Lindsay as the new head baseball coach. Lindsay comes to Ursinus after recently serving as the head coach for Delaware Valley during the 2022 season.
Kenny Collins has been named the interim head coach for St. Lawrence, Peter Hoy, who has been the head coach of the program since 2010, informed that University that he would be stepping down for health reasons over the summer.

Aurora scored 44 runs as they swept Lakeland on Saturday. It was the fourth straight game in which the Spartans scored in double digits in a win. Ursinus also had a record offensive day in a split with Gettysburg. Suffolk also put up runs, 36 in a win over Anna Maria.
New York and Mid-Atlantic teams were out in force as games in the opening of the weekend were pushed to Sunday. Teams with soggy fields were forced to find neighboring diamonds where they could play.

Texas Lutheran, Ursinus, and Lynchburg were a few teams that turned to their bull pens to secure win on Tuesday. This was not the case in Wisconsin as UWSP starting pitching overpowered the UWO Titans.
