The Team of the Week is D3baseball.com's weekly honor roll, in its inaugural season of recognizing the top performance at each of thirteen positions from the previous week. Players are selected from nominations from their school's sports information directors. This is the tenth and final Team of the Week of the 2012 season.

Games of April 30- May 6, 2012

C  Collin Janssen, Sr., Concordia (Texas)

Janssen backstopped Concordia (Texas) to an ASC championship and a playoff bid in this month's playoffs. The Bryan, Texas native was part of a battery that allowed four runs in the Championship tourney. Janssen led the team with two RBI as he went 1-for-2 in the finale.

1B  Brett Vanasdlen, Sr., Aurora

Van Asdlen hit .692 in three games with five home runs, one double, 15 runs batted in and six runs scored. He finished the three game week with a 1.923 slugging percentage and a .643 on-base percentage. In Aurora's 25-1 win over Dominican he hit three home runs and10 runs batted in for the game broke a single game Aurora record that dated back to 1996.

2B  John Carey, So., Southern Maine

Carey, the 2010 LEC Player of the Week, helped the Huskies post a 4-0 record last week. Carey batted .533 (8-for-15), including a 4 for 8 effort against ECSU, with a double, five RBI and three stolen bases.

SS  Jordan Jaenicke, Sr., Beloit

In a four-game MWC series with Ripon, Jaenicke hit .588 (10-17) with 6 runs scored, and a home run in each of the four games. He had a 1.353 slugging percentage and a .650 on-base percentage.

3B  Kyle McLain, So., Washington and Jefferson

McLain's five-hit game against Frostburg State was the first by a W&J player since 2008. With a hit in all eight games last week, McLain extended his hitting streak to 12 games, as he batted .533 (16-fo-30).

OF  Ryan Adams, Sr., Aurora

Adams continued his hot season hitting .700 (7-for-10) on the week with Aurora going 3-0 and clinching the Northern Athletics Conference regular season title. While going two-for-two in the 25-1 win over Dominican, Adams hit a home run, double, drove in five and scored four runs. He also went three for five with two runs scored in Aurora's 6-2 win over Wheaton (Ill.).

OF  Jon Carlson, Jr., Wesley

Carlson batted .571 on the week. He drove in half of Wesley's runs in a 6-0 win over Gwynedd-Mercy. His two-run double in regular season finale gave Wesley a 2-1 lead against Methodist that was Wesley's 30th of the season tying a school single-season record.

OF Kyle Flagstad, Jr., St. Scholastica

In a three-game sweep of Northwestern over the weekend, Flagstad batted .615 (8-for-13), hitting a home run, recording seven RBI and scoring three times. He was also 3-for-3 on stolen base attempts.

DH  Mike Taylor, Sr., Western New England

Taylor hit .533 in a 4-1 week and helped lead the Golden Bears to the first place game of the CCC Championship Monday against either Roger Williams.

SP  Stephen Hickey, Sr., Mount Aloysius

Hickey, the AMCC Pitcher of the Week, registering three saves in non-conference play for the week and got the start in an elimination game of the first round of the AMCC tournament. The fifth-year senior only allowed 3 hits while striking out 2 in 5.1 innings of work to get credit for the upset win over Pitt-Greensburg.

SP  Frank Holbrook, Jr., Wheaton (Mass.)

Holbrook tossed seven innings of four-hit ball to propel Wheaton (Mass.) to its 12th NEWMAC Championship with an 11-2 win over Babson on Saturday. Holbrook scattered allowed one run, walked two and struck our four.

SP  Brian Ranta, Sr., George Fox

The Northwest Conference Pitcher of the Year closed out his career, defeating Pacific Lutheran 7-1 in the first game of the Linfield Tournament on Friday. The only run he allowed was unearned in the first inning. He struck out 11, the second-highest single-game total in his career, and walked only one.

RP  Tucker Healy, Sr., Ithaca

Healy retired 10 batters over three Bomber wins, striking out nine of them. He earned his fifth save of the spring and 15th of his career (one short of program's all-time record) in Saturday's win over Utica.
