D3baseball.com Team of the Week

The Team of the Week is D3baseball.com's weekly honor roll, in its fifth season of recognizing the top performers at each of nine positions from the previous week. Players are selected from nominations from their school's sports information directors. This is the ninth Team of the Week of the 2016 season.

Games of April 4-10, 2016

C  Graham Low, Fr., Macalester

Low had a monster game in a 16-14 win at Augsburg, hitting two three-run home runs in back-to-back innings and adding a two-run double for eight runs batted in. Behind the plate, he threw out both runners attempting to steal. Low also had a hit, a run and two walks in a 9-4 win over Hamline, finishing the week batting .444 (4-for-9) and slugging 1.222.

1B  Conner Combs, Jr., East Tex. Baptist

Combs had a career weekend batting .727 (8-for-11) with a 1.364 slugging percentage, six runs, and seven RBIs. He hit two home runs and a double and never struck out in 11 plate appearances.

2B  Ben Browdy, Jr., Washington (Mo.)

Browdy batted .556 (10-for-18) with 14 RBIs and a 1.167 slugging percentage to lead Washington (Mo.) to four wins last week. Six of his 10 hits on the week were for extra bases.

SS  Brandon Snow, Fr., Farmingdale State

Snow led Farmingdale State with a .667 batting average (6-for-9) in a 3-0 week. He had a double and triple as he scored five times with four RBIs.

3B  Travis Lodge, Sr., Randolph-Macon

Lodge hit 8-for-13 (.615), slugged 1.154, with an on-base percentage of .688. He score three runs and drove in seven. Of his eight hits, four went for extra bases (two doubles, a triple, and home run).

OF  Johnny Eagan, Jr., Wis.-Oshkosh

Eagan hit safely in all five contests, compiling a .632 batting average (12-for-19) with two doubles, one home run, 10 runs batted in and eight runs scored to help UW-Oshkosh defeat Concordia (Wisc.) and win three of four games against UW-Stout. Eagan, who also stole two bases, marked percentages of 1.000 (10 putouts, 1 assist) for fielding, .895 for slugging and .708 for on-base.

OF  Taylor Kohlwey, Sr., UW-La Crosse

Kohlwey hit .733 (11-of-15) with eight RBI, six runs, four doubles, three walks, two stolen bases and one home run in UW-La Crosse's four-game sweep of UW-Platteville. He recorded three multiple-hit contests and three multiple-RBI games as he extended his hitting streak to 22 games dating back to last year.

OF  Jeremy Wolf, Sr., Trinity (Tex.)

Wolf continued his hot hitting last week, posting a .545 (12-for-22) batting average over a five-game stretch, and extending his hitting streak to 15 consecutive games. Wolf had five doubles and two home runs for the week, as well as scoring six runs, and driving in eight RBIs.

DH  Devon DeRaad, Jr., Occidental

DeRaad led Occidental to its 21st win in its last 22 games, going 7-for-10 with three doubles and two home runs. He drove in nine and scored six runs in the Tigers three wins over La Verne.

SP Collin Brinker, Sr., Westminster (Mo.)

Brinker threw a compete game two-hitter as Westminister defeated Webster 6-0. Struck out seven with no walks.

SP  Robert Donnelly, So., Oswego St.

Donnelly allowed three hit and no walks in a seven inning complete game effort, defeating Plattsburg State 3-0. His eight strikeouts were the most of his career.

SP  Michael Thomas, Fr., Christopher Newport

Thomas allowed only one hit over 6 shutout innings of work, picking up his third win of the season as he retired 16 straight batters. He struck out six and walked none.

RP  Kyle Kennedy, Sr., Mass. Maritime

Kennedy posted a win and a pair of saves in three conference outings during a 5-0 week for the Buccaneers. He earned a victory with two innings of one-hit relief with five strikeouts while stranding go-ahead runs in final inning of 5-4 triumph over Worcester State. Kennedy saved both ends of doubleheader sweep at Fitchburg State by retiring all nine batters faced with three strikeouts in three combined innings of work.
