UW-Stevens Point pitchers tossed a pair of on-hit shutouts in taking a WIAC series, four games to none on Monday. Eureka earned their first win against Spalding in eight years with a 2-1 win over the Golden Eagles.
Eureka run ruled Blackburg 11-1 in their SLIAC series. In Altoona, the Lions of Penn State Altoona scored 26 to close a doubleheader with Chatham. In the Top 25, Aurora had 22 in seven innings in a whitewashing of Luther.
Jerry Rashid has been appointed head coach of the Eureka program. An icon throughout the central Illinois baseball community, Rashid has won more than 800 games in 39 seasons at the high school level.
Kim Johnson has been named head coach at Eureka. Johnson owns 26 years of collegiate baseball coaching experience, including 20 seasons and 515 victories as a head coach.
Eureka pitching coach Andrew Werner made his Major League Baseball debut Wednesday night, earning the victory for the San Diego Padres in a 4-2 decision over the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Eureka announced the hiring of Isaac Cox as their new head coach. Cox comes to Eureka after a five-year stint as an assistant coach at Lincoln College.
James Clark has been named the new head coach at Eureka. Clark was formerly the baseball head coach at Spoon River College and was a four-year NCAA Division III baseball student-athlete at Knox.

A native of Victoria, Ill., Clark was formerly the baseball head coach at Spoon River College in Canton, Ill. and was a four-year NCAA Division III baseball student-athlete at Knox College.
HIGHLAND, Ill. – Eureka College senior catcher Alex Hess (Washington, Ill./Washington H.S./Illinois Central) and junior third baseman Blake McConkey (Fairview, Ill./Spoon River Valley H.S.) have each been named to the 2011 All-St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Second Team, SLIAC Commissioner Will Wolper announced during the opening day of the SLIAC Tournament in Highland, Ill., Thursday afternoon. Additionally, senior first baseman Tim Cashdollar (Morton, Ill./Morton H.S.) received All-SLIAC Honorable Mention and was Eureka’s representative on the league’s All-Sportsmanship Team.
ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Eureka College freshman pitcher Bryan Meyer (Dunlap, Ill./Dunlap H.S.) has been named the Diamond Sports St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week, the league announced Monday night. Meyer earned his second career complete-game victory last Tuesday.

EUREKA, Ill. – Fontbonne took advantage of four Eureka errors to score nine unearned runs in the fourth inning of Saturday’s St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game against the Red Devils, coasting to a 10-0 triumph over Eureka in eight innings. The game was played on the campus of Eureka Middle School after the infield surface at Henry Sand Field was ruled unplayable due to inclement weather earlier in the week.

Robert Morris held off a late Eureka rally to win game one, 7-6, before coming from behind for a walk-off 6-5 triumph in the nightcap.
