This time it only took one season for the Gallaudet to set a school record for wins in a season. After last year's team broke a 112-year-old program record with 17 wins in a season, Gallaudet reached the 18 mark as it swept Keuka 5-3, 8-3, on the road Sunday in a NEAC doubleheader at Kuhl Field.

Jeff Scafidi drilled a fastball to deep left-center field over the 346 ft. fence at Wachusett Regional for his 14th career home run setting the AMCAT all-time HR record as Anna Maria swept a doubleheader from visiting Norwich in GNAC action. Anna Maria took game one 12-2 behind a strong 6 inning pitching performance by Justin Hyland and game two by a score of 11-3. On the opposing side, Norwich junior outfielder Dustin Shimkus picked up his 100th career hit, a fourth inning double.
Marywood's offense came alive late in game one and stayed hot throughout game two as the Pacers swept a non-conference doubleheader from visiting Penn State Wilkes-Barre in Scranton. With the pair of wins, Marywood improved to 19-11 and tied the school record for wins in a season, previously set by the 2002 squad that went 19-19 on the year. The Pacers won the opener 8-3 and the nightcap 11-4 and got complete-game victories from Mike Siciliano and Joseph DiLoreto in the process.
For the second consecutive day, UW-La Crosse earned a pair of walk-off victories over UW-Oshkosh at North Campus Field. After winning a pair of 4-3 contests Saturday, including the second in 10 innings, the Eagles earned a 4-3 victory in Sunday's opener before coming back to win the nightcap, 9-8 in 12 innings. With the win in the opener, UW-L head coach Chris Schwarz earned his 150th career victory. The wins moved UW-La Crosse into first place in the WIAC standings.
The 14th-ranked Tigers improved to 27-5 overall and 12-2 in the
NCAC following a doubleheader sweep of Wabash at Walker
Field. DePauw blanked the Little Giants in the
first game, 6-0, and took a 10-5 victory in the
nightcap. With the sweep the Tigers clinched the NCAC West
Division title and a spot in the conference tournament. Wabash
dropped to 13-19 overall and 4-6 in the conference. In game one,
Hobs Donovan improved to 2-0 with the three-hit shutout and
recorded 12 strikeouts.
Scranton got hot at the plate at the right time and got another
complete game from Rocky Sawyer to roll to a
9-4 win over Moravian at Connell Park. The Royals pounded out
12 hits, including three home runs, while improving to 13-13. The
win keeps Scranton one game behind Drew for the final playoff spot.
The Royals and Rangers meet in a three-game series next
weekend.
Elmhurst completed a three-game series sweep over North Central
by hammering the Cardinals 11-3 at Butterfield Park. The win marked
Bluejays' first series sweep of a CCIW opponent since the 2007
season when Elmhurst defeated Wheaton three times. Dave Wolak led
the Bluejays at the plate, finishing 4-for-5 with three runs scored
and two RBI.
As far as storybook endings in baseball are concerned, it doesn't
get much better. Bottom of the ninth, bases loaded, game is tied
and a freshman, going up against his hometown school and a handful
of his former teammates, steps into the batter's box. What happened
next sounds like its straight out of a cheesy Hollywood script. Victor
Munoz drilled a walk-off grand slam over the left field wall,
giving Occidental a 7-3 win over La Verne at Anderson Field. It
was the rookie's first career home run and the biggest hit of his
young career, coming against the first-place Leopards.

Maritime split its doubleheader with NYU-Poly on Saturday at
Reinhart Field and then earned a sweep of Purchase on Sunday to
finish the weekend with three wins in four conference games.
Christopher Myers earned his team-leading fifth victory of the
season, pitching a complete game, allowing five runs on seven hits
with six strikeouts. Game two saw a stellar pitching performance by
Trevor Cannella, who threw a complete game shutout, while allowing
just four hits for his fourth win of the season.
A two-run home run by Wildcats' Kramer Lindell in the top of the
13th inning gave visiting Linfield a 4-2 win over Chapman, earning a
doubleheader split at Hart Park. The Panthers had captured the
first game on Sunday 6-1 behind an outstanding pitching performance
by Kevin Osaki and the two teams split the four-game weekend series
in Orange. Osaki tossed a complete-game eight-hitter, while
striking out a career-high 12 batters to lead Chapman (13-19) past
the No. 19 ranked Wildcats. Osaki (2-1) became the third Panthers'
pitcher in the series to throw a complete game, walking just one
batter. The lone blemish against the junior was a solo homer by
Lindell in the sixth inning which, at the time, tied the game at
1-1.
Ithaca extended its winning streak to seven with a 14-4 win at
Utica. The win gave the Bombers a three-game sweep of the Pioneers
on the weekend as Ithaca totaled 38 runs over the three games.
Teagen Barresi and Mathers each had three hits to lead the Ithaca
offense. Barresi was 3-for-6 with a double, three RBIs and a
run scored. Mathers was 3-for-4 with three doubles. He scored
twice and drove in a run.
Thomas More rallied from an 8-2 deficit to defeat PrAC
leading Westminster (Pa.) 10-9 in 10 innings today at
Westminster Field in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania.Thomas More
scored one in the first, two in the second, two in the sixth, five
in the seventh and one in the 10th, while holding Westminster to
two in the first, one in the fourth, five in the fifth and one in
the ninth for the 10-9 extra inning victory.

Junior center fielder Erik Munzer was 4-for-5 with four stolen
bases, and added a key two-run single in a nine-run eighth inning
as Pomona-Pitzer captured a 15-7 win over Cal Lutheran at
Alumni Field.
Colby-Sawyer pitching held the Maine-Farmington scoreless
over a pair of NEAC games at Hippach Field. In the first game,
Colby-Sawyer's PJ Singster outdueled UMF's Casey Ashey in a 3-0
win. Singster tossed a three-hitter in the victory. The sophomore,
who walked one batter, faced just two batters over the minimum.
Ashey struck out a career-high eight strikeouts in the complete
game. He walked three and gave up six hits. In the second game,
Jordie Scheiner went 6.1 innings in the win and Greg Doucette
closed the door as Colby-Sawyer closed out the sweep with a 2-0
win.
Carthage continued to crawl back into the CCIW race with a
15-5 win over CCIW-opponent Illinois Wesleyan at the Carthage
Baseball Field in Kenosha, Wis. The Red Men won the Illinois
Wesleyan series after the two teams split a Saturday, April 14
doubleheader. Carthage pounded out 17 hits off four Titan
pitchers. Tyler Eickmeyer, Joey Aiello, Mike Gentile and Mike
Wasche had three hits each, with Andrew Arenson driving in four
runs.
Baldwin-Wallace swept Wilmington in an OAC doubleheader at Tewksbury-Delaney Field. With the two victories, the Yellow Jackets improve to 23-6 overall and 7-3 in the OAC. At the plate, Anthony Longhitano lead the offense by going 3-for-4 with two runs scored, four runs-batted-in, a stolen base and a home run. In nightcap Brendan Toughey was 3-for-4 with three runs scored, a walk, and a pair of stolen bases. On the mound, Jon Capadona got the start and went six innings. He gave up two runs (one earned) on five hits and struck out two batters.
A 16-hit onslaught led Vassar over Union 15-3 in game one of a
Liberty League doubleheader split, but in the second game, the
Brewers were unable to match Union's offensive performance, falling
11-7. Vassar found its swing with 14 runs across the first five
innings en route to a 15-3 win in game one. In game two, Union
scored five runs in third inning and withstood a ferocious Vassar
rally for an 11-7 win.
Hal Landers and Sean Ryan each drove in three runs to propel No. 6
Wheaton (Mass.) to its fifth-straight win, a 10-7 triumph over
Southern Maine, in non-conference action at Sidell Stadium.
Ryan went 4-for-5 with a home run and two runs scored while
freshman Apolinar De la Cruz was 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run
scored. Landers was 2-for-5.

Ramapo defeated Baruch in a non-conference game at Jeff Maund
Field, 22-7. Dave Jacob finished the day going 3-3 at the plate
with two runs scored while Christian Spurr was 2-3 with two runs
scored and two RBI. Lee Rozins was 2-2 with a team leading five
RBI. Daniel Youngsman earned his first win of the season as he
struck out seven over 5.2 innings while scattering six hits.
Olivet split a MIAA doubleheader with Albion at Frank Joranko
Field in Albion. The Britons
won the first game 2-0 before the Comets
salvaged the split with an 8-7 win in the nightcap. In the
opener, Albion scored a run in the second inning on a sacrifice fly
and another run in the fifth on an RBI-single. Olivet left the
tying runs stranded on the bases in the seventh inning. In game two
it was the Britons falling short as the tying run was thrown out at
the plate in the final inning.
After sweeping the Blue Devils on Saturday the Warhawks did
it again Sunday at Prucha Field at Miller Stadium in
Whitewater. The Warhawks won game one 12-1 in eight innings and
game two 11-8. In game one Steve Bartlein's home run in the
bottom of the eighth gave the Warhawks a 12-1 lead and ended the
game early by virtue of the ten-run rule. Bartlein was
2-for-5 in the game with six RBIs. Bartlein's six RBIs is a
season high for the Warhawks and he now has three games this season
with multiple RBIs. Game two went a little differently.
UW-Stout jumped out to a 4-0 lead after two innings. The
Warhawks responded scoring eight unanswered runs to go up 8-4 after
six and kept the Blue Devils from recaputing the lead.
Behind a home run and double from Zack Galasso, the St. Vincent
Bearcats came from behind to win in 10 innings on the road over
Thiel in PrAC competition. A.J. Kavinsky drew a walk with the bases
loaded in the 10th frame for the game-winning run.
Pacific Lutheran scored six runs in the middle three innings and
went
on to defeat George Fox, 10-6, in a NWC game played at the PLU
field. As a result of take two of three games from George Fox, the
Lutes improve to 20-11 overall and 12-6 in the conference, two
games back of NWC leader Pacific and one back of Whitworth. The
Bruins are now 16-18 overall and 12-9 in the conference.
