    Piedmont 's Braden Simms broke the program record for career saves in a 6-5 win Tuesday evening with his 23rd. Tyler Lizell earned his 11th career save to set the program record for saves in a career for Gettysburg.

    Piedmont team was crowned CCS Champions Monday following a 3-2 victory over Maryville in the title game. The Lions were led by Kolton Hicks who earned Tournament MVP honors after going 2-for-4 with a home run, his second of the tournament.

    Piedmont and La Verne earned their first wins of the season. ThLions defeated Cal Lutheran and La Verne bested Linfield. Widener was a Wednesday winner with Rhodes and Hendrix opening with wins on Tuesday.

    Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology has named nationally regarded Adam Rosen as its next head baseball coach, effective August 25. Rosen replaces Jeff Jenkins, who served 32 years in the role before announcing his retirement as athletic director and head baseball coach following the 2021 season.

    For the second straight game, the Piedmont College baseball team was unable to battle back from an early deficit in a 9-7 loss to Adrian College Tuesday. Piedmont trailed 4-0 early but mounted a comeback only to allow a four spot to the Bulldogs in the seventh inning and once again trail by four.

    In the final game of the Early Spring Tournament, the Piedmont College baseball team may not have been inside Loudermilk Field but the magic was still at work in a comeback win over Pacific Lutheran 8-5. The Lions used a four-run seventh inning to claim the lead and another stellar effort by the bullpen led the charge.
