Despite giving up a run, the Saints pitchers combined for a no-hitter in St. Lawrence's 9-1 win over Plattsburgh on Tuesday afternoon at Tom Fay Field.
Plattsburg State walked off St. Lawrence in a Region 3 matchup. Most eyes were on the Top 10 contest between No. 1 Salisbury and No. 10 Catholic, won by Salisbury on a late home run.
Ohio Northern shut out Ramapo but they were not the only team to keep their opponent off the boards. UW-Oshkosh did it twice and UW-La Crosse needed one to make a single run hold up. St. Lawrence, Union and Wilmington also won by the narrowest of margins.
Kenny Collins was named St. Lawrence University's Head Baseball Coach on July 1, as announced by Senior Vice President for Athletics Bob Durocher. Collins, who served as the Interim Head Baseball Coach following the step down of Peter Hoy in the summer of 2020, led the Saints to a 12-12 overall record, marking the first time the team has had a .500 record since 2014. Four members of the Saints' squad earned All-Liberty League honors, while 12 earned a spot on the league's All-Academic Team.
Kenny Collins has been named the interim head coach for St. Lawrence, Peter Hoy, who has been the head coach of the program since 2010, informed that University that he would be stepping down for health reasons over the summer.
Mike Leonard has been named the head coach of the Middlebury program. Leonard comes to Middlebury from Bates, where he has served in the same role for the last six seasons, taking over from recently retired Bob Smith.
Franklin & Marshall has announced the hiring of Ryan Horning as the new Diplomat head coach. Horning takes over the reigns of the program after serving five years as an assistant coach at F&M.
