Kean University split their final NJAC regular season games on Saturday in a long day of baseball, falling in the opener, 4-3 in 11 innings and winning the nightcap, 10-9 in 14 innings. The win gave Kean head coach Neil Ioviero his 800th career victory, all at Kean, in the midst of his 27th season.
Kean and NJCU got good pitching to open this weekend's slate of game on Thursday. Rowan and Stockton needed to rally for their wins and Rutgers-Newark cruised over William Paterson. WPI and Roger Williams became the 12th and 13th team to earn a tie this D3 baseball season.
Transylvania outfielder Trent Youngblood had a walkoff hit, career record set last weekend and is now part of the second D3baseball.com Team of the Week in 2024. He is part of an outfield with membership from Kean (Tyler Stone) and Texas-Dallas (Luke Finn).
Jersey City, N.J. (4/21/23) – Phil Marcantonio tied two Kean single game records as he helped the baseball team outlast New Jersey City University, 18-13 on Friday afternoon on the windy waterfront.
Kean extended their NJAC lead on Thursday with a 14-3 win over NJCU. Rowan kept pace, 1.5 games back with a win of their own. In Virginia it was Mary Washington adding to their at-large playoff resume with a win over ranked Randolph Macon

Union, N.J. (2/18/23) – The Kean University baseball team used pitching gems to sweep visiting Franklin & Marshall College on Saturday by the finals of 7-1 and 1-0.

Ioviero improves to 750-328-2 in his 26 seasons, all at Kean University.
Piedmont and La Verne earned their first wins of the season. ThLions defeated Cal Lutheran and La Verne bested Linfield. Widener was a Wednesday winner with Rhodes and Hendrix opening with wins on Tuesday.
Runs were plentiful for Rowan as they avenged a loss to Virginia Wesleyan with an 18-3 win. Kean and Denison did the Profs one better, putting up 19 as they won on Sunday.
No. 13 Southern Maine opened with an extra innings win over No. 5 Johns Hopkins. In other action No, 24 Kean made it 10-0 to start the season and No. 16 Texas-Dallas received their first loss but recovered to split a set with Concordia-Texas.
No. 11 Rowan opened their season with a win over Swarthmore and No. 24 Kean is to a 9-0 start with a win over FDU-Florham,their best start in program history. Loras made their mark, defeating D-I Iowa, 3-1
Kean and TCNJ won their NJAC series, ending the seasons for Montclair State and Ramapo. Across the Delaware River it was Alvernia and Lebanon Valley extending their seasons.
The NCBWA has its third-ever two-time NCAA Div. III Rookie of the Week, while a nine-inning no-hitter and a four-homer week took home the week seven hitter and pitcher prizes, respectively.

No. 23 Wooster needed some last minute offense to take game one but none of that was needed in a lopsided game two win over No. 25 Denison. Elsewhere, Johns Hopkins and Kean continued to find wins scarce in their respective conferences.

Ioviero, already the winningest coach in department history for all sports, has a 701-299-2 overall mark in his 24th season at Kean.
It is no surprise that two favorites for the region, Kean and Rowan, are from the NJAC,. Add Johns Hopkins to the list of favorites and you are just starting to make a list of favorites for a national title in 2021.
