Plattsburgh improves to 9-14 (3-6 SUNYAC) with both wins and will next host St. Lawrence on Tuesday, April 18 at 3 p.m. The Hawks fall to 7-18 (0-12 SUNYAC) and also host a home game on April 18, as they welcome Russell Sage to New Paltz.

Sean Malamud (Staten Island, N.Y./Susan E. Wagner) was strong on the mound for Plattsburgh, battling through 7.2 innings before giving way to the bullpen. He earned the win, struck out seven, and allowed four earned runs while scattering nine hits. Kyle Cremin (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Kennedy Catholic) and Christian Ott (Kingston, N.Y./Kingston) each had a hit and an RBI, while Alex Kornblau (Pound Ridge, N.Y./Fox Lane) scored two runs, had a hit, and walked twice. Jack Defayette (Rotterdam, N.Y./Schalmont) also had an RBI and walked twice over four plate appearances, as Andrew Veit (Yaphank, N.Y./Bellport) had a base-hit and a two-out save out of the bullpen for Plattsburgh.
Sam Quinn-Loeb, who has served as the assistant coach for the Cardinals for the past three seasons, has been named the head coach at Plattsburgh State. Quinn-Loeb replaces former head coach Kris Doorey, who coached the Cardinals from 2002-21 and is the longest-tenured and winningest coach in program history. Doorey recently accepted a position at Florida Southern College as the director of athletics development.
