The Team of the Week is D3baseball.com's weekly honor roll, in its eleventh season of recognizing the top performers at each of nine positions from the previous week. Players are selected from nominations from their school's sports information directors. This is the second Team of the Week of the 2022 season.

C Matthew Brumbaugh, Sr., Redlands
Brumbaugh had a big two game stretch for Redlands as they went 2-0 with wins over La Sierra and St. Katherine. He finished 5-for-6 across the two games, batting .833 with an OBP of .900 while slugging 1.333. He totaled three doubles, five RBI's and four runs scored. He also walked three times.
1B Paul Beverly, Jr. North Central (Ill.)
Beverley slashed .667/.667/1.444 with a six hit (9 at-bats) week. In three game, he scored five times and drove in eight. Four of his hits went for extra-bases as he recorded two doubles, a triple and a home run.
2B Jaden Himmelreich, Sr., Penn St.-Abington
Himmelreich batted .714 (5-for-7) and led the team with nine RBIs as Penn State Abington racked up 66 runs in a pair of wins over Guilford. He scored five runs. Himmelreich tied a school-record by knocking in six in Sunday's win.
2B Cole Collins, Jr., Centenary (La.)
Collins was key in the one win Centenary had this last week. He was a late entry in a game one loss to Alma, pinch running and scoring a run. In the nightcap, he was 3-for-3 (1.000) with all three hits going for extra bases, two doubles and a home run. He scored twice in the game for three on the day and drove in three.
SS Kyle Brex, Jr., Widener
Brex batted .643 (9-for-14) with a home run, three doubles, five RBIs, five runs scored, one walk and one stolen base in Widener's three games against No. 1 Salisbury, No. 2 SUNY-Cortland and Marymount.
3B Danny Coleman, Sr., Cortland
Coleman batted .467 (7-for-15) with two doubles, six RBIs and three runs scored. He handled 12 fielding chances without an error (eight assists, four putouts) as nationally second-ranked Cortland opened the season with three victories, including two road wins over top-ranked Salisbury.
OF Carter Ballstadt, Sr., Piedmont
Ballstadt batted .556 (10-for-18) in four games for the Lions. He had a double, three triples and three home runs for a slugging percentage of 1.444. He score five and drove in nine. Ballstadt stole four bases.
OF Scott Giordano, Sr., Cortland
Giordano batted .571 (8-for-14) with two walks, a double, six RBI and five runs scored, and he handled eight fielding chances in center field without an error as nationally second-ranked Cortland opened the season with three victories.
OF Camden McNearney, Jr., Birmingham Southern
McNearney went 5-for-12 (.417) against nationally ranked Trinity (Texas), WashU, and Lynchburg. Had two home runs, drove in five, and scored six other times. Was a perfect 2-for-2 on stolen bases and walked twice.
OF Maxwell Mims, So., Southwestern (Tex.)
Mims was electrifying in Southwestern's season opener, hitting 2-for-5 with a pair of triples, three RBIs, and a run scored. He followed that up with a 1-for-2 performance in the following game as North Park pitched around him, drawing three walks, stealing two bases, and scoring two runs. For the week, Mims posted a 1.000 slugging percentage, .636 on-base percentage, and .429 batting average.
DH Matt Ozanic, Sr., Augustana (Ill.)
Ozanic split his time between catcher and designated hitter as Augustana opened 3-0, including an upset of No. 14 Webster. He batted .455 (5-for-11) scoring five times and driving in another five. He walked three times and stole three bases.
SP Christian Capuano, Gr., FDU-Florham
Capuano threw seven shutout innings, allowed just one hit and struck out nine in the 2022 season opener, an 8-0 win against Saint Elizabeth on Friday afternoon. Capuano was dominant on the mound and needed just 80 pitches and faced just 23 batters over his seven innings of work. Capuano's success led FDU to its first opening day win for the program since the 2011 season.
SP David Ciaccio, So., Moravian
Ciaccio helped the Greyhounds to a 1-0, three-hit shutout in his first appearance on the mound this season. Ciaccio started and was perfect through three innings. Ciaccio would get out of a jam in the bottom of the fourth inning with a double play, and he posted his fifth and final strikeout of the game followed by a ground out in the bottom of the seventh to work out of a bases loaded jam. Ciaccio faced a total of 25 batters in seven innings for the victory.
SP Brandon Pond, Sr., Lynchburg
Pond twirled six perfect innings to help Lynchburg open the season with a win over No. 15 Trinity (Texas) in Birmingham, Ala. with a career-high 12 strikeouts. This is Pond's second straight win over the Panthers dating back to the 2021 High Point Regional.
RP Brett Tharp, Sr., Bridgewater (Va.)
Tharp made three appearances this week, getting the save in two. He pitched 6.0 shut down innings allowing four base runners (two hits, two walks). He struckout three.
