The Team of the Week is D3baseball.com's weekly honor roll, in its eleventh season of recognizing the top performers at each of nine positions from the previous week. Players are selected from nominations from their school's sports information directors. This is the third Team of the Week of the 2022 season.

C AJ King, Sr., Johns Hopkins
King helped lead the Blue Jays to a 2-1 weekend, defeating #19 NC Wesleyan and MIT. In the three games this weekend, King slashed .700/.786/1.100, going 7-10 at the plate with a homer, a double, and five RBI. King drew four walks and did not strike out once.
C Rob Marinec, Sr., North Central (Ill.)
Marinec had four hits (avg: .667) and three walks (obp: .700) in ten trips to the plate. With a double and home run, he slugged 1.333 on the week. He threw out 1/3 of base stealers and was perfect with his defense.
1B AJ Brosious, Jr., Wilkes
Brosious made his Wilkes debut, going 4-for-5 (.800) with nine RBIs in a doubleheader. He went 2-for-3 with four RBIs a walk and a run as the Colonels defeated Rosemont 16-0 in the first game on Sunday. Brosious pinch hit for the Colonels in game two in the fifth inning with the bases loaded down 6-5 and knocked the go-ahead three-run triple. Later in the inning he added a two-run single before the game was called with Wilkes ahead 15-6.
2B Alec McGinnis, So., Augustana (Ill.)
McGinnis batted .714 (5-for-7) for the Vikings last week. He scored three with four RBIs. He had a double and two home runs. He handled seven chances without a bobble.
SS Joe Jimenez, Jr., Texas Lutheran
Jimenez hit an outstanding .700 at the plate (7-for-10) with seven hits, two extra base hits (double and triple), and five RBIs in three games for the Bulldogs winning against NAIA's Our Lady of the Lake and splitting a doubleheader against UMHB.
3B Freddy Forgione, So. SUNY-Maritime
Forgione hit .857 (6-for-7) with five doubles, four runs scored and two RBIs in Maritime's season-opening doubleheader sweep of Plattsburgh on Sunday. He slugged 1.571 in the two games.
OF Avery Neaves, Jr., Lynchburg
Neaves drove in go-ahead run in a 8-7 win against Dickinson as he put up a .625/.706/1.125 slash line for the week. Neaves reached base 12 times in four games (five hits, five walks, 2 HBP) in 17 plate appearances (8 at-bats). He drove in seven runs, scored five and stole three bases.
OF Jack Potter, Fr., Claremont-Mudd-Scripts
Potter had a big weekend to help CMS to a pair of non-conference wins over Centenary (La.) and Bridgewater (Va.), batting 4-for-6 (.667) with four RBI as all four of hits were for extra bases (three doubles and a home run). He scored four runs.
OF Gabe Stacy, Gr., Wittenberg
Stacy opened the season with a slashline of .750/.818/1.750. Of his six hits in eight at-bats, he had three doubles, a triple and a home run. He scored three times and drove in four.
DH Ian Hancock, Jr., Birmingham Southern
Hancock went 4-for-7 (.571) with three extra-base hits which included a two home runs, one being a grand slam and a triple. He also scored four times and drove in eight more runs. Hancock helped the Panthers go 2-0 outscoring their opponents 25-10.
SP Jarrett Korson, Jr., Claremont-Mudd-Scripts
Korson had a dominant start to help CMS knock off Bridgewater (Va,). He went seven innings, allowing two hits and striking out 13 to help the Stags to a 7-0 shutout win. He had two strikeouts in the first, and then accounted for all three outs via strikeout in the second and third to give him eight through the first three innings in what was a pitcher's duel until the Stags broke it open late.
SP Austin Luther, So., Wittenberg
Luther was dominant, hurling six innings of scoreless ball for Wittenberg, earning his first win of the 2022 season on the mound. Luther would allow just two hits, fanning eight John Carroll hitters along the way.
SP Jon Sawyers, Jr., Eastern Mennonite
The Royals were provided a solid start in their decisive win over Mary Baldwin from Sawyers, a junior transfer. Not allowing his first hit until the fifth inning, Sawyers tossed 5.0 strong innings, punching out six Fighting Squirrels while only walking two.
RP Stephen McLendon, Jr., Babson
McLendon recorded a pair of saves in two relief appearances as Babson opened the season by winning two out of three games at No. 15 Trinity (Texas). He struck out the side in Friday's 5-4 victory and then needed just nine pitches to retire the side in order on Sunday to help the Beavers close out a 4-2 victory.
RP Grayson Thurman, Sr., Lynchburg
Thurman went two for two in save opportunities as he made back-to-back saves against Dickinson in one run games, He had 21.6 K/9 in three appearances and 5.3 strikeouts per appearance, allowing two hits with no runs across 6.2 innings of work.
