Mary Washington wins tune-up for C2C tournament
May 08, 2023Mary Washington erupted for nine runs in the first inning, and rapped out 15 hits in a 16-7 victory at Penn State-Harrisburg. Wheaton (Mass.) and Piedmont won conference tournament on Monday.

Kean extends NJAC lead

Late Charge Lifts UMW Past #3 Eastern Conn. State, 7-4
March 13, 2023Senior pinch hitter Tim Blankenship broke a 4-4 tie in the bottom of the eighth inning, and the UMW baseball team added two more runs in the inning to defeat third-ranked Eastern Connecticut State University, 7-4, on Monday afternoon at V. Earl Dickinson Stadium. The Eagles improve to 13-5 on the season, and run their win streak to seven straight.

Adrian wins in record fashion
March 03, 2023Adrian broke or tied four offensive records on Friday and they were not the only ones. Pitt-Greensburg also broke records. Mary Washington, St. Joseph (L.I.), Wartburg and Wilkes all scored 15 or more runs on the day.

Swiney hired at Mary Washington
August 23, 2019Mary Washington has named Kelly Swiney as its new head coach, as announced by school officials. Swiney had been the head coach at Westminster (Pa.) for two seasons after coaching at his alma mater, Allegheny, for nine seasons.

UMW names Riser as head coach

Riser wins 600th game, Keller cycles and sets HR mark
Mary Washington ended their regular season with a split result with York (Pa.), winning the opener, 21-9, for head coach Wayne Riser's 600th career win. Senior James Keller hit for the cycle and set the program HR record in the 5-3 game two loss.
